British royal family will travel around the world, including to Singapore, in 2012, to celebrate 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II became the leader of the British Empire.

Buckingham Palace in its announcement on Wednesday (12/14/2011) mentions, Prince William and his wife Catherine will travel to the Asia Pacific region, while Prince Charles and his wife Camilla will visit a number of countries including Australia and Canada.


Queen Elizabeth II (85) and her husband Prince Philip (90) will remain in the UK, but will travel to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

"Members of the royal family will travel around the world representing the Queen that commemorates 60 years of leading the British Empire, visiting the Commonwealth countries, Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories," said a spokesman for Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

Travel around the world coupled with events in England, commemorating 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II led the British empire, including large-scale contests on the River Thames which involved more than 1,000 boats and lights throughout the UK.

In this schedule, Prince William, grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and heir to the throne of the United Kingdom, will travel with his wife, Princess Catherine, to Malaysia, Singapore, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.

Tuvalu Islands in the Pacific are not visited the kingdom in the last decade. when the Queen and her husband traveled in 1982, they were just a boat ride to the capital Funafuti.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry, Prince William's brother, will make his first trip abroad representing the Queen, to Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas.

Princes William and Harry's father, Prince Charles, will travel with his wife, Camilla to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea. Charles will also visit the Channel Islands off the coast of France.

Falkland Islands in the southern Atlantic Ocean, which became the subject of war between Britain and Argentina in 1982 ago, will receive a visit from the Queen's cousin, namely Edward, Duke of Kent.

Queen Elizabeth II's second son, Prince Andrew, will visit India, while girls Queen, namely Princess Anna, will visit Mozambique and Zambia. Queen's youngest son, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie will visit the Caribbean region.

There are 15 countries where the Queen of England remains the head of state. While the countries of the Commonwealth (Commonwealth) is around 54 previous British colony, the Crown Dependencies including the Channel Islands, while the Falkland Islands and Bermuda are examples of the British Overseas Territories.

Queen Elizabeth II is the second longest reign in British history, after his ancestor, Queen Victoria, who ruled for 63 years. Elizabeth II became queen after her father, King George VI, died on February 6, 1952.

This trip aims to continue popularitas British Queen as the royal post problems that plagued the British Empire following the death of Princess Diana in 1997.

Buckingham Palace also announced that Britain extend the holiday weekend 2-5 June to celebrate 60 years of leadership of Queen Elizabeth II, while the countries Canada, Australia and New Zealand, performing in their own way.
