A unique shopping experience for locals and tourists alike is offered by the Old Post Office Antiques in downtown Milton. “Nostalgia alone brings people in,” said owner Cassandra Sharp. “There’s history here so people love to shop here. It’s like looking back in time.”
Which opened in 1940, the antique shop with a café sits in Milton’s old post office. The post office relocated in the early ‘80s and had sat vacant for years until Sharp decided to use the building for a new purpose. “It seemed to fit retail really well,” Sharp said. “If you can pull antiques and shopping it does really well, especially in this area. The one thing we were missing was finding a way to get people here and keep them here.
“That’s when we decided to include a café,” she added. It took Sharp two years to renovate the building so that it could be used for her new purposes and could be up to code.
