to local outdoor rinks

Unseasonably warm weather plus the end of winter break for students combined to pack local outdoor ice rinks on Sunday.
Brian Buckley took his daughters, 7-year-old Ruby and 8-year-old Claire, to Longmont's Ice Pavilion for an afternoon of skating.
"It's one of our favorite rinks in Colorado," said Buckley, who lives in Boulder. "The open air, the park, it's beautiful. I grew up in Boston, where it's so cold. This is a treat. It feels like spring skating."
Those who prefer ice skating without the freezing temperatures are in luck this week, with high temperatures expected to stay around 50 degrees.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a high near 50 today, though it comes with a high wind warning with wind gusts of up to 55 mph.
Tuesday is expected to be equally warm, though less windy. Wednesday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 51, while it could get up to 55 by Thursday.
